Zara Sequin Clutch & White Shirt

Happy 11-11-11!

One of the hardest style challenges for me, personally, involves picking out a Sunday morning churchgoing outfit that is both appropriate and reflects my own personal style. Sometimes it’s a hit, other times it’s a miss. But it usually involves sequins (ooh, how scandalous). I’m usually still foggy-headed since I haven’t yet had my Starbucks (speaking of, I think I’m the only person on the planet who dislikes the red holiday cups), so it’s only when I walk out the door that I notice oddities with my chosen outfit. For this one, it was realizing that I embodied the holiday song, “Silver and Gold”. More often than not, I just shrug off the would-be faux pas and roll with it. Mixed metals, I say!

P.S. – the last photo we shot on purpose to mimic the well-circulated one that was featured on Zara’s website (and which I also featured).

I’m off to New York until Saturday for a quick trip to finish out the MNG by MANGO mission with an appearance at jcpenney Herald Square. It’ll be Friday (tonight) from 6-8pm EST if you’d like to drop by!

I am so glad to hear I’m not the only one who struggles with putting together a church outfit…why is it so hard?! I have lots of dresses & skirts, but several of them are too short, so I usually go for trousers like yours too :)

Oh! Wear this outfit to Herald Square and you will be a hit. Sophisticaton and sparkle combined. I just got back from NYC and the weather was so fab the whole time (60+ and sunny)! I swear I walked the whole city!

Looking for a cool new place to eat? Try KittyChai in Soho (very short walk from the subway) Thai food with a prix-fixe menu! Also, Nobu on Hudson (very pricey but YUM)!

If you get a chance, check out the new Islamic Art exhibit at the MET! Unbelievable.
    Safe travels.

It was fun to read about you choosing what to wear to church. For me, I am always debating about what shoes to wear on Sunday morning. It seems I am continually saying to my husband, “I can’t wear THAT outfit, or THOSE shoes to church!” :-D

I always feel super dumpy in work trousers but this combo is anything but!! I love your use of accessories – especially the animal print belt and red lipstick. I’m def a fan of your blog and will be checking back for more tips.

I know what you mean – I always want to look my best for church but it’s definitely important to not be screaming for attention or dress in an inappropriate way! I think you’ve nailed it with your put together look with bits of pizazz :) Looking lovely as usual, Kristina!
Hope you are doing well and that you’re having fun in NY as well!

So I ordered that clutch online and finally got it and they sent me the wrong color! Called them and they sold out of the gold, again. :/
You look so chic, I can see you going to to cocktails or the opera or something!
