A Firework, A Dancing Flame

If you’re looking for an excuse to wear neon colored jeans, there are unexpected benefits: wearing these completely eclipses the fact that my shirt is rumpled, my lipstick is faded, and everywhere I walk my boots make a chink chink sound. I could have just as easily chosen a plain white tee (probably my favorite Style Mint tee). But I decided to pair them with my favorite polka dot shirt which has gotten quite a bit of mileage here on PSS. I think it ups the whimsical factor, no?

HB and I are one month away from being married, and we’re so excited! Extremely stressed, yes, but also extremely excited. When someone asked me what I’m looking forward to most, I honestly and truly am most looking forward to gazing into his eyes and saying our vows, and being declared husband and wife. I cannot wait to be Mrs. (okay, Doctor) _____! ;)

Now look at me, I’m sparkling
A firework, a dancing flame
You won’t ever put me out again
I’m glowing, oh woah oh

Such a cute look! I am obsessed w/ polka and I love how they look paired w/ colored jeans. By the way, those boots are freakin’ awesome!

I am soooo happy for you and HB; can’t believe it’s only a month away!

Hahah, I like the compensation argument.
If you were….then this won’t matter.
Yesterday, my scarf was so wrinkled so I wore a brighter lipstick, hoping that would detract people’s attention from the scarf. I think I was just fooling myself. ;)

    Have a great weekend. :)

It doesn’t get any better than neon pink and polka dots! Love the look! And hope the last month before the wedding isn’t too terribly stressful!

This is such a fun outfit – and those jeans fit you perfectly! Congrats on hitting the one-month mark…hopefully you can enjoy your last moments as an “engaged” couple & not stress too much! :)

Thanks so much! :) leave it to the simple, top-and-jeans outfits with no accessories to take the cake. sometimes it just all feels a bit much, you know?

plus when you’re wearing neon pink pants and polka dots…accessorizing probably isn’t the smartest idea. lol.

Anyway, thanks for the sweet comment girlie!

Aw thank you Nicole. I admit it is daunting when you first pull on a pair of colored jeans (they’re not very forgiving…and I don’t have the slimmest or most toned legs) but I say to hell with it. Wear what you want!

Love the color of your jeans! (I have yet to invest in a pair… I am so overwhelmed by all the color choices and have been so inspired by fashion bloggers). It is the perfect touch to your gorgeous polka dot top!

Good luck with the next month, I hope everything goes well and you have time to relax! And Mrs./Doctor _______ is definitely exciting :) ;)

Thanks M. :) I do plan to try the plain white tee for weekends though! maybe with some nude pumps or those bejeweled heels I wore recently….oh decisions, decisions!

Cute outfit! Not something I could ever pull off successfully, though.

I have a completely unrelated question.

As my husband is getting ready to graduate from medical school in a few weeks, I find myself at a loss as to what to get for him as a gift. Suggestions for med school grads (for family members who aren’t at all rich)? I know what I want (pediatric stethoscope), but he’s difficult. Have you considered doing a “things med school grads/interns want” post?

I appreciate the question and it’s something I just can’t really answer…it depends on budget, etc. I bought HB a Meisterstuck Mont Blanc pen (for “signing orders” on rounds, even though it’s all electronic now and we determined it would quickly disappear the moment he took off his white coat)….his parents bought him a nice Tumi messenger-bag style briefcase to carry everything to and from the hospital (great for call nights). It depends on your budget but generally something useful that references the future career as a doctor will work well. :)

And as for the post idea, it’s not a bad idea but I think the audience would be a bit niche! ;-)

Love the look! I always enjoy seeing how people pair bright and bold colors with other patterns. I found these awesome fluorescent yellow ones on amazon (http://amzn.to/HMfdxN) , but I’m not sure what would be good on the top half

Adore the pink with the polka dots. I have the same thing with outfits sometimes… they’re kind of wrinkly by the time I have the chance to photograph them! haha. can’t believe you’re just one month away. so exciting!
And PS(S): I just realized that somehow you were removed from my google reader. Very sad! I’m not spending an insane amount of time here when I should be working. Thanks. :)

Your life is literally my dream – I’m thinking about becoming a doctor (yes i have the grades and stuff) and being a blogger on the side is just the dream :D
Love this outfit! those jeans are so trendy at the moment,
