Arm Party

Ahhh…the arm party. Coined by one lovely Man Repeller, the trend has been around for longer than its name. Editrixes, models and fashion bloggers alike all sport a plethora of friendship bracelets, bangles, chains, watches, and more. Down South, we lucky belles collect David Yurman bangles and wheat rope bracelets to layer. Up North, it’s all Tiffany. West coast: friendship bracelets mixed with Cartier Love bangles.

Me? I prefer a mix of all of the above. I love mixing my David Yurman collection with Shashi bracelets, vintage watches and faux-diamond jewelry. High and low is always a good way to go!

The Challenge

Yep, it’s another Bloggers Do It Better challenge! This one should be short and sweet.

  1. Snap at least one close-up photo (or two, or three) of your arm party and post it to your blog by Wednesday, August 3rd.
  2. Visit Pretty Shiny Sparkly on Wednesday, August 3rd to link your blog post to the link-up (which will be within the post published here on Aug 3)
  3. Make sure you have the button, and link to the challenge (this post, or link-up post when it goes live, either is fine)
  4. Don’t forget to party! (Responsibly, kids, I don’t want your arms getting into any trouble.)

    I am loving these BDIB assignments! My first assignment was the most recent one and while I began it with so much fear and hesitation, it was so cool to find that after I took that leap and put myself out there I felt amazing and confident with the result! Plus, it was unbelievable to feel a greater connection with so many brilliant and gorgeous women! I wonder if some of you have also found how the challenges have become good exercises in pushing our own self-image boundaries and comfort levels?

    I love this idea (and definitely love Leandra's "Arm Party" phrase.) Have to admit I was slow to jump on this trend due to the hard time I've had finding bangles that fit over my hand and onto my wrists! It's a problem I had mainly with items from fast fashion stores like H&M. Luckily, I've had a lot of success with vintage clasp-style and beaded elastic bracelets. I'll definitely submit a link next week!

    I loved this challenge! It was my first and definitely will not be my last. I have been coming to your blog for quite some time and I had to let you know how much you inspire me. So much so, that I started my own with my sister. I am a full-time nursing student and {now} blogger, and when I read that you are a full-time med student I decided if you can do THAT, I can do it too! Thanks for sharing your life with us fellow bloggers…. and I hope that someday you can feel ready to share your tragic story about your brother. I lost my Dad so I know that takes time, but I would love to hear how you cope and possibly share stories.
