Wow, it feels good to finally do an outfit post again! Hubbie and I made ourselves promise to do one on my one day off this week–and he had the whole location picked out. He had scouted out this place a while back, and told me he planned on taking me there the next time we shot my outfit. And although it’s been years (okay, a month) since my last outfit post, it feels good to get back in the style game with such a lush backdrop.

This dress is nothing short of amazing. I’m sure you recognize it from the Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement photo–but even if you didn’t, how could you resist the cinched-in wrap waist and three-quarter length sleeves? It makes any body look good. What’s not to love? You can thank Banana Republic for partnering up with the famous-because-of-Kate brand, Issa, to the masses. I’m liking the whole collection, but I think this dress is the best place to start. It’s selling out like hotcakes online, so check to see if it’s in your size and snatch it up fast. Otherwise, call your local BR store to see if they have yours in stock.I’m partial to the Royal Blue color, myself, naturally.

Did I mention my nickname when I was little was Queenie? It may have been due to the fact that my sister Michelle called me Kreenie but couldn’t pronounce the “R”. But it also could have a reflection of my diva-like personality.

Either way.

this cut is so elegant and it flatters your figure so well! i’ll bet the blue also brings out your eyes. that’s sweet of your husband to help you keep up the outfitting – it gets hard when you’re practically living in the hospital. you’re someone i continue to admire and look up to, kristina!

Ah, that famous dress! I love wearing blue too so I was obssesssssssed with Kate’s dress. It looks great on you! I think royal blue is one of those great colors that suit everyone.

P.S. Love the redesign! Welcome to Genesis! I too switched to Genesis some time ago and love it.

This dress is to die for!! That cross at the lower front and the vibrant blue are a great combination. It really looks gorgeous on you and great choice with the shoes, Kristina!

Great dress, looks fab with your blonde hair! I am always looking for comfy dresses to wear to work and this ticks all the boxes– appropriate length, shows off the waist while forgiving in the belly area, long sleeves (why aren’t more dresses long sleeved?? So many sheaths you need to find a sweater or jacket for), and stretchy. I’m sold!

Wow! This dress on you and these fabulous photos do SUCH a better job displaying the dress. The image on BR ‘s website isn’t enticing at all.

I love the color and the cut. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the quality of the fabric, etc. I like the tiger striped dress in that collection as well.

The engagement dress looks fabulous on you! Although the fabric is quite light weight, this dress is comfortable and so, so flattering. My Banana Republic (Victoria, BC) got this style in black as well as merlot and royal blue. Since I’m a sucker for a little black dress, I went for the black. However, after seeing your photos, I regret not getting the blue. It’s a beautiful colour! Nanette (thesailorswoman.wordpress.com)
