The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is one of the biggest sales of the year - and definitely the largest for the national department store retailer. Naturally, this gets me very excited because Nordstrom is one of my favorite places in the world to shop--because they have a great mix of high-low fashion and beauty, and their customer service and return policy is the best in the biz.
Being a beauty junkie, I always shop the sale primarily for beauty, first - especially because the beauty specials go fast. Allow me to share with you my strategies for shopping the #NSale..
Buying the Big Items
This strategy involves buying the expensive beauty items you can't live without or have been dying to try all year - now that it comes on massive sale or is 2-for-1, there won't be a better opportunity than the present. Get the Clarisonic Mia 2, the Luna Foreo (or just try the mini size for even more savings). For the truly crazy, there's always the giant tub of La Mer (hey, you save $365!). ? This is also a great time to try out SK-II, one of my favorite new beauty discoveries of 2016 because it has absolutely changed the look of my skin. It's pricey, so best to buy during the sale when you also get a bunch of free goodies and save a whopping $101.
Buy Bundles, Gifts, or 2-for-1s
This sale is full of not only discounted items, but also fabulous bundled specials and gifts (think perfumes with body lotions and gels included at no additional cost) as well as two for the price of one. It's a great way to stock up on your essentials. I also love that because this sale is so massive, beauty brands will make special, exclusive to #NSale items you can't get anywhere else. I have my eye on this Charlotte Tilbury palette and this amazing NARS favorites palette. Another great example is this GlamGlow GRAVITYMUD set (not pictured) $69 normal price but with added bonus items a $113 value.
I love the peach-and-taupe tones of this MAC makeup set, and this makeup brush set for those looking to add to their basic collection.
I'm quite cautious of overspending on these sales so I do tend to go for more basics, everyday items and stock up on my essentials.
