Too Faced Melted Metal Lipstick Swatches

Too Faced have been out with their “Melted Lipstick” range for a little while now, but they only just released a new “metallic” formula that adds shine and iridescence. They sent me a few of their range and I thought I would swatch them for you!

Formula: Opaque, creamy, moisturizing, this lipstick is like a hybrid between a liquid lipstick and an actual lipstick bullet. It truly does feel like a melted-down lipstick in tube form. Goes on opaque, sometimes catches on dry patches depending on the color, great staying power, leaves a long-lasting satin finish on the lips, with higher shine accompanying the Metallic formulation.

Price: $21

Verdict: If you enjoy liquid lipsticks but don’t enjoy the dryness that can sometimes accompany it, these would be a better option for you. Wish they came out with a matte version! I also preferred the original (non-metallic) version since I’m not a fan of frosted finishes. If you like the “Frost” range of lipsticks from MAC, you will like the Metallic range.

Favorite shade: Melted Melon & Melted Strawberry (a tie between them both)

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2015

estee-lauder-bronze-goddess-2015

I have been a fan of Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent since last year, which is a relatively short amount of time when you count up how many years Bronze Goddess has been a “thing”. Every year the beauty conglomerate releases the fragrance (often in new packaging) and every year it sells out, never to be bought again…until the very next year.

This year I was lucky enough to get my hands on a bottle in advance of the release, so I could share this year’s packaging update with you all. On the left you’ll see last year’s packaging, which featured a pretty, mirrored gold finish. This year’s packaging is more translucent, more in line with prior iterations, with a subtle gradient effect.

Bronze Goddess is the definition of summer, bottled. If you’re not a fan of coconut and sun cream, then you won’t be a fan of Bronze Goddess. But to my comrades who love walking around smelling like a sexy piña colada, raise your hands up because your next bottle of Bronze Goddess is about to be available…soon.

Hudson + Bleecker Etoile Avion Cosmetic Case

hudsonbleeckeretoilecosmetic1sm

It’s like this brand, Hudson + Bleecker, had me in mind when they designed the ethereal, scintillating Etoile series of cases. I’m so happy to have discovered this brand amongst my Instagram followers, because this is a new favorite brand for me. The aesthetic is chic yet modern with a twist of classic and edge, and I’m completely hooked. Reel me in, fellas. I’m a goner.

Take this Etoile Avion Cosmetic Case, for example. The details are immaculate, the stitching is great, everything about the construction screams attention to detail (always a plus in my OCPD-mind). Everything is super functional, and with this case in particular, I love that it’s large enough to store makeup and brushes for a long trip if needed, but also has a skinny pouch inside that can be tossed into one’s purse on the go, filled with daily makeup essentials.

Grab the Etoile Cosmetic Case and more, over at Hudson + Bleecker.

NARS Audacious & Hardwired Holiday Collection

nars_audacious_holiday_2014_collection01

I have had the incredible pleasure of trying some more of the NARS Audacious lipsticks (in Barbara, Vera, and Vivien) and am oohing and aahing over the packaging for the Holiday 2014 “Hardwired” color collection. There’s a gorgeous fall-appropriate blush called Almería (a tan rose color appropriate for most skin tones). There’s also an amazing glittering dark green eyeshadow flecked with gold and light green glitter called Gabon.Read & Comment →

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon

Bite Beauty Matte Lip Crayon Léché

Can you tell I’ve been obsessed with lips lately? In case you’ve been under a rock, check out this post and this post (and then come back here, ‘kay?). I featured this amazing matte lip crayon in my October favorites, but I thought it deserved its own moment in the spotlight. This is such a lightweight, non-drying (hallelujah) matte lip color. Creamier than a lip pencil, and only slightly less long-wearing, this is a new favorite matte formulation for me. I especially love the color, Léché, which is a muted dusty nude with rosy undertones. Kylie Jenner’s Lip Products

kylie-jenner-lips-using-actual-products5sm

It’s no secret that in the last 3-4 months I’ve fallen victim to Kylie-Jenner-Lips-Mania. Dubbed “Lip-Gate” by those who swear she has gotten lip fillers despite her family’s adamant denial (she’s only 16! they cry), I happen to agree with the sentiment – there’s no way this girl’s lip plumping is just attributed to makeup. Lip liners are great, but they aren’t capable of supernatural powers.

Magic aside, she has a strong 90’s lip vibe going on which I can totally relate to–since I actually am a child of the 90’s. It’s that spicy-brown-mauve-matte look that is so cool. Mind you, this isn’t “your lips but better”. This is full on browny rosey nude.  Now, I have naturally “medium” lips, I would say. Not super thin, but not luscious either. I love the look of bigger lips but won’t get lip injections (“yet,” she hedges), so this technique is something I have tended to employ lately.Read & Comment →

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte

NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte

I’ll be the first to admit that I fall for hype nine times out of 10. But this is one instance where I didn’t fall into the hype, and I’m so eating my words right now. NARS Audacious lipsticks are a new range of hyper-pigmented, creamy, satin finish lipsticks that are utterly amazeballs. Click for pics and swatches and where to purchase!Read & Comment →

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow

I’m relatively new to the Josie Maran color range, although I have been a fan of Josie’s for many years. In fact (*tangent alert!*), Josie Maran was the first legitimately famous person that ever followed me back on Twitter. This was back in the day before she launched her eponymous beauty range. I was, in a word, starstruck.

Fast forward several years later, and she has grown a hugely successful company, pioneered the use of Argan oil (now a household term), and she’s brought out a makeup line. What a woman!

I decided to try out her Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadows after being madly in love with the swatches I’ve seen on YouTube (Ashley, I blame you!). I bought no less than four shadows (there are a total of 6 in the range). These are simply stunning. Hydrating with real coconut water, argan-infused pigments mix to create a metallic sheen unlike any other. Read & Comment →

iPhone 6 Plus Review

iphone6plus

Hello guys and gals! She is here and she is all mine! My iPhone 6 Plus arrived at my doorstep at 5pm on Sep 19th and I immediately fell in love. In the week following the announcement and the preorder, I found myself obsessively checking YouTube videos for reviews and “hands on” first impressions of the iPhone 6 Plus. However, I couldn’t visualize how the iPhone 6 Plus would look because every single review featured a male reviewer, and most men’s hands are larger than my own of the teeny-tiny, child-like variety.Read & Comment →
