I hope you enjoyed this selection of my favorite summer picks – beauty and non-beauty related! It’s a little bit more seasonally-appropriate and it’s truly what I’m enjoying as we look ahead to summer now. To view the images and all of my comments on each item, click each picture!
It’s shopping haul time! This time I’ve got quite the assorted mix for you lovelies. I’m ashamed to say I purchased all of the below items in one single day. My wallet was crying by the end of it, but ultimately I am happy with everything I’ve purchased (though I haven’t tried the salt toothpaste quite yet–I’m waiting for my current toothpaste to run out and then I will try this intimidating-sounding toothpaste. With trepidation. Please Click To View The Full Post →
If you haven’t already guessed by now, I’m a definite fan of Laura Mercier’s eau gourmand line, with special attention to the Creme de Pistache (Pistachio) scent. Ironically, it smells nothing like a pistachio, unless you count the barely-noticeable nutty undertone to what is otherwise dominated by sugar, butter, and vanilla. It’s like when you’re baking a cake from scratch, and you have just creamed the butter and sugar, and you add the dash of vanilla. So yummy.
Very recently Dove came out with a scent in their nutrium moisture body wash range called, “Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia“. Apparently Dove shares Laura Mercier’s fondness for long-winded product names. Nonetheless, if you are fan of the LM scent, you will love this one. Unfortunately I can only find this scent in the beauty bar and body wash at the moment – but you can be sure I scooped up multiples in case it gets discontinued quickly. It is, after all, not the type of scent that sounds good off the shelf. Until, that is, you smell it.
I will caveat the potential buyer who is an expert on the LM Creme de Pistache range – the Dove version doesn’t smell quite as concentrated, if that makes sense. It’s very light. It also doesn’t lather up much at all, so it’s a bit like washing your body with a lotion – but it’s very moisturizing and I like that after I get out of the shower I can actually skip the moisturizing step on most non-fussy days.
Hey guys! Today I’m sharing with you some fragrance updates. I personally love perfume and while I do have signature fragrances that I turn to time and time again, I like to change up my fragrance depending on my daily mood. Here are a few that I have been loving at the moment.
P.S. – thanks so much to those of you who have participated in my 2014 Designer Blog Sale. What a hit! At the time of writing this, the only item left is the Rose Gold Rockie by Alexander Wang. I’m already shipping out the items that were purchased today! Yay!

It’s March, which means Spring is here, and fortunately for my husband who was last seen circa Fall 2013 amidst a pile of designer handbags, it means it’s SPRING CLEANING time! I’ve decided to do a Blog Sale like this every once in a while. More than likely, this will be only an annual thing, but if you guys really like it, it may become a semi-annual thing.
You have probably recently seen these handbags on my blog, and you may be asking yourself, “Kristina, why are you giving up these handbags so soon? Don’t you love them?” To that I say, yes I do! But mommy’s deciding on either a Prada Saffiano Lux Tote or a Celine Micro Luggage Tote for her next handbag investment – and she needs the shelf space.
For the blogging equipment, I’ve got some really special stuff for you – my prized filming camera, the Panasonic Lumix G5 – which basically launched my YouTube channel and handled all of my videos up until January 2014. A powerhouse in a small frame. I also am parting with my treasured Canon Elph 520 – the teeniest little HD pocket camera you’ll ever lay eyes on. Fits in small pockets. Records HD video. Perfect for the lifestyle blogger.
Everything is as pictured, and everything is functional and in working order, of course. No duds here! I will describe and rate every item with specific attention to any scratches or scuffs an item may have, including photo documentation as such. There is no specific return policy (i.e. no buyers’ remorse returns) but everything is guaranteed to arrive in working order (for example, not DOA or “dead on arrival”) which is a standard electronics seller’s policy. Items come neatly packaged, and handbags include their dust bag and tissue paper unless specified otherwise. Cameras come with their original box, unless specified.
Click on each small image in the grid to see the individual pictures full size. (May not work on mobile!) Hurry up before what you want is gone!
STILL AVAILABLE: Alexander Wang Rose Gold Rockie (all other items below are sold out!)

For a long time I’ve coveted the mind-bogglingly-expensive boar bristle brushes by Mason Pearson that they experts reportedly tout as the “best brushes on earth” — but couldn’t afford the whopping price tag (It’s in the hundreds, people! For a brush!). Then I found this brush online, took a chance, and within days it was on my doorstep (thanks, Amazon Prime!). The appearances are startlingly similar, but the Denman brush costs less than 10% the price of a Mason Pearson. Now, am I saying this will last you ages? Probably not. But if you want the feel and function of a boar bristle brush (whose bristles, by the way, help redistribute the hair’s natural oils from the scalp to the ends of your hair), then give this one a go. Definitely my new favorite brush!
By the way, the Denman brushes have real boar bristles, too. Just like Mason Pearson.

Back to school fashions vary by region, age, culture, and a whole host of other factors. But if I were able to go back in time and coach my teenage- or twenty-something-year-old self, I would probably take myself shopping for the above items. Once can never have too many pairs of good, basic, black ankle boots (…and please don’t call them booties! Pet peeve!). I like the trendier, edgier versions to be on the cheaper side, in case the trend is a flash-in-the-pan. Classic black leather boots without much embellishment should be an investment piece in every woman’s wardrobe – they go with everything. Skirt with tights, skinny jeans, even a pair of tailored slacks. Make sure you invest in a comfortable, durable, well-made pair. I love Dolce Vita’s iteration above.
I’m also loving the classic collegiate baseball cap, but reworked in a leather style for a bit of an edge that is also kind of timeless looking. Classic “clubmaster” style sunglasses are a must since festival fashion is still going strong, but pick up an affordable pair first before you go splurging on the Ray-Ban version. A classic geometric/tribal print scarf can be tied onto your backpack (I have a soft spot for leather rucksacks) in case your classroom is a bit chilly. And I’m loving the glammed-up take on the classic friendship bracelet – with Swarovski crystals! Totally my thing!
