Ask PSS: Episode 1

Hey guys! First of all I want to thank each and every one of you who sent kind thoughts and prayers and comments my way on Friday and continually throughout the weekend. On Friday I was on my way to the hospital for a usual 16-hour call shift, when a cement truck ran a two-way stop sign (I had the right-of-way) and out of nowhere he collided with my passenger side, straight on. My car was slammed into a light pole and I managed to swerve myself out of a ditch. Thankfully I managed to get out safely with just a few bruises on my left arm and left hip where my body must have slammed into the side of the car on impact. I feel very fortunate and very blessed. Sadly, I’m carless now but it’s a small price to pay for my car taking the brunt of the impact. Bravo, 2011 Toyota Camry! You have a special place in my heart, that’s for sure.

So! Here’s my first episode of #AskPSS – you guys use the hashtag to ask me questions and get featured in my video! If you weren’t featured and you asked a question, never fear – you can always ask again!

Thanks so much to those of you who did write in their questions! I had fun answering them!

What’s In My Céline?

whatsinmybag-celine-micro-luggage-tote1

Happy Monday guys and gals! I hope you are having a great start to your week. Mine definitely looks busy, but luckily I’ve got some great content lined up for you this week, so be sure to check back every day!

Today I’m sharing with you my new baby: my Céline Luggage tote in the “Micro” size and black drummed leather. The drummed leather comes with silver hardware and the smooth leather comes with gold hardware, which I do feel looks better on black, but smooth leather scratches easily and loses its shape faster than drummed leather. (A comparison between the drummed and smooth leather can be made with the Chanel caviar vs lambskin leathers, if you’re familiar with Chanel). Although the bag is pricey, it’s by far the most well-made bag I’ve ever owned (yes, even compared to my Chanel). Nothing compares to the feeling of sturdiness and craftsmanship, in my opinion. Céline definitely has a new fan for life.

If you’d like to watch the video about my thoughts on the bag and the contents of my bag (which have actually changed quite a bit since my last video, so it won’t be as boring, I promise), or to see a photo of all the contents laid out neatly, then just click on!

My Husband Does My Makeup

HUSBANDDOESMYMAKEUP

As a blogger, one becomes quite used to anticipating milestones. One I’ve been looking forward to since forever has been hitting 10,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel. My husband promised me about 6 months ago, that when I hit 10k on YouTube, he would do the video I’ve been dying to film for a very long time: the “Husband/Boyfriend Does My Makeup” tag video. Believe it or not, I hit that milestone sometime last week. Thank you so much. Seriously, I cannot believe that ten thousand of you subscribe to my videos. Crazy. Anyway, this is what we filmed. Meet Gidget

Gidget

You’ll have to excuse the absence of any beauty or style related post this weekend. We got a new puppy! It’s been about 11 months since we lost Winnie, and our hearts are finally ready and open to inviting another little bundle of furbaby joy into them. Instead of outfit shoots and beauty product testing, our weekend was spent at Petsmart (a record breaking 4 times in 2 days), at our house getting the place “puppy ready”, and of course the requisite trip to the family’s house to introduce her to extended family members. She is actually related to Bella, my mother’s Yorkie (whom you last saw here), in that they share the same dad and their mothers are sisters! She, like Bella, is super tiny, only 1 pound at 3 months of age. She’s also a real trooper, handling baths and the wayward thermometer at her first vet checkup with ease. Let me know if you’d like to meet her in some of my videos! She’s definitely been the weekend star of my Instagram.

Four Years Without My Brother

Hey guys. Today, October 6, always marks a solemn day in the Medhus household. The fact that this gloomy, chilly weather marks four years since my brother’s suicide is all too apropo, because it’s how most of my family & I feel on the inside today. We’re going to spend some time with my mom so she doesn’t feel so alone today, but I filmed a quick video for you since words tend to escape me on this day.

Creating A Care Package

The other day I decided to make a care package for my sister who was feeling homesick on her first day away from home at college. She’s in a completely different city, which can be very hard when you’ve been living 18 years of your life in the same home. I thought I would film its contents (last minute) before I sent it on its way, in case it inspired you to do something similar for your student or sibling who’s away from home right now! Enjoy!

Our Wedding

Medhus_Braly_Wedding-032smOur wedding day was absolutely magical. It was the best day of my life–I had never spent an entire day surrounded by people I love, celebrating my husband’s and my love for each other. Absolutely magical. I am so thankful to our parents, our friends, and our families for making such an amazing day possible (and for an extremely romantic honeymoon in Paris). Our wedding was featured today on Style Me Pretty so click over to check it out as well as find out more about our wedding theme, and see more photos from the reception! I will continue to post more photos from the day here, as well as the video, but you can see it all in one place there!
