I am obsessed with my latest find: polka dots and peplum? Could there be anything in this universe more appealing to this magpie? Methinks not.

Because I’m wearing my Hudson and 7 For All Mankind jeans embarrassingly thin, I decided to invest in a new pair; these are by Joe’s Jeans, a brand I had yet to try, and I’m pleasantly surprised! I will be getting them hemmed, though because even though these are a “petite boot cut” they are anything but petite in length. Length aside, they are a great pair of jeans and best of all they aren’t low rise (which I have come to hate over the years) so I don’t feel like they’re falling down my rear-end.

Oh, and the hubby likes ‘em too, but for entirely different reasons, which I will not deign to mention here.

RIGHT?!?!?! Low-rise jeans are SO over-rated. As I’ve gotten older (late 20′s), I appreciate a jean that does not ride down with my every move. Love the top and little skull bracelet. I’ve been hinting to my husband that I really want it for a while now… but I don’t think he gets it. Is it the Alexander McQueen?

I’m not a fan of low rise jeans either; I wanna bend over and not worry about other people getting an eye full. Regular jeans look low enough on me because my torso is so long/disproportionate; I’d look really silly in low rise pants.

Love. Polka dots are my most favorite print ever. I really like the longer jeans with the heels. Maybe buy a second pair to be hemmed for flats, and keep these for heels?

Gorgeous! Another beautiful Rebecca Minkoff bag. My favorite brands for jeans goes Burberry, 7 for All Mankind, then Joes. I have a pair of Joes boot cuts myself. For your outfit today, I think it’s classic fifties with the simple stud earrings, high waisted peplum, and the mix between reds and polka dotes, but with extra bits reminiscent of the 90′s like the pops of gold and now with the nude nails and blocked heels. I must say, it’s ingenious.

You look sooooo cute! I’m on a peplum binge right now (leather peplum was the latest purchase…), so I don’t know what I would do if I came across a polka dot version that fit me well.

I’ve also never tried Joes jeans before, so thanks for the heads up that you like them! It’s time for me to do some jeans investing (a process I hate), so it’s good to see you’ve had some luck!

I always have that problem! Especially with designer jeans. They’re made for people with beautiful gazelle legs and 5’3″ me gets drowned in denim!

Invest in some James Jeans (you can find good deals online – Bluefly, etc)… I’m the same size as you and these have turned into my favorite go-to jeans (buy the skinnies one size up). I wear a pair everyday (whether bootcut, trouser, or skinnies)… love how they fit and how comfy they are. Sometimes you can even find petite lengths… Joes Jeans didn’t work for me because the back of the waist didn’t curve enough to fit (flared out in back) but they were too tight in the thighs (it was a weird combo).
