Flower Beauty: An In-Depth Review

Flower Beauty by Drew Barrymore In Depth Review

When was the last time a new-from-scratch beauty line was introduced to the mass market? I honestly can’t tell. And one helmed by a celebrity actress? Don’t recall. But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine how truly great this one would be. When I heard about it, initially I was skeptical. But then I read the philosophy behind the brand: quality made, luxury-grade cosmetics, with no brand advertising, so it can be sold for cheap…at Walmart. I received a few press samples (the mascara, tinted moisturizer, a nail polish in that beautiful turquoise color above that I totally forgot to mention, a lip butter, and two lipsticks) but I liked the swatches so much I went to a far-away Walmart, where they had a Flower display, and purchased $100 more of the inexpensive makeup. That bought me a lot of makeup, y’all. Click below for the review!

That’s so exciting that this line is at Wal-Mart! I’ve never heard of it before, but I’m actually heading out to the burbs soon so I will have to check it out. Thanks for the review, Kristina!

WE were sent home with FLOWER beauty products at LuckyFABB and the khaki shimmer eyeliner is AMAZING. I need to try more of the line!

that was an awesome review! i will be going home to a bigger city soon and cannot wait to check it out. i was wondering if they lip butter/sticks/glosses and other items had “safety” packaging? i guess i am always weary of drug store make up because you can always just dip your finger in something or pop the lid off of a lipstick. it doesn’t seem to have that same “freshness” or security of buying boxes or plastic wrapped items from a store like sephora.

They do have safety measures however that doesn’t always stop everyone unfortunately :-/

thank you! i will definitely be on this hunt this summer and check it out.

I have heard so much about this brand and this review just cements it: I must give it a try! Plus who wouldn’t want to look like Drew Berrymore?

I appreciate your HONEST review of the products, not like everything is amazing, but you suggested some good improvements. I LOVE that they are made in the US too! I’m a drugstore-cosmetics frequenter, and wouldn’t mind switching-out my current mascara fave for Flower since it is made in the US :). Thank you so much!

Just watched your video review; it was very informative. Would you be able to provide swatches of all the different colors? Thanks!

Unfortunately I do not have the time to go back and swatch everything but I did swatch most items during the video–I’m sure there are a ton of other videos out there on YouTube-land that might help you, though!

Huh, I was wondering what that line was, I’ve saw it a few times and even grabbed a concealer last month. The color was great on me, the only problem was it dries so quickly it’s hard to blend. I put a tiny amount of the last tube of BB cream on my hand last time I went I was impressed by the coverage. Haven’t bought it though, I’m not completely sold on BB creams yet, I prefer the coverage of a liquid foundation.

I’ll have to give a few of these items a try. I’ve only purchased a handful of items this year that haven’t been made in the USA and I’m definitely willing to try a new product that’s made in the USA.
