My Thoughts on StyleMint

by Kristina on January 20, 2012 · 35 comments

I know you see me dress up in a lot of feminine-edgy outfits, but what you don’t see are my days when I’m casual and comfortable in a slouchy t-shirt and jeans. (Well, sometimes I post those outfits, too.)

It can be so hard to find a “perfect T” sometimes, because you want the combination of just-right slouchiness, the softness to the touch, and the durability to wash and wear hundreds of times over.

Enter: StyleMint

I’m so over the moon about these soft, slubby Ts that I just keep wearing them over and over again.

Gross, I know. I promise I do do my laundry. Promise.

The great thing about StyleMint is that it elminates the guesswork out of choosing a perfectly soft, well-designed, long-lasting shirt. I know that I am always hit-or-miss at Target or Walmart or other stores. Once in a blue moon you find a shirt that you know will get super soft after a handful of washes, but that is a big IF. With StyleMint Ts, I always know I am going to get that softer-than-skin feel right out of the package. And did I mention that package ships for free?

Can you tell I like soft things? Perhaps I should rename the blog to Pretty Soft Sparkly. No?

Here are the highlights (since I know you are a busy, working woman):

  • Only $29.99 per shirt–any shirt, no matter if it’s long sleeves or short sleeves
  • FREE Shipping (and it’s fast, take my word for it)
  • You can skip ANY month, but you probably won’t want to, because…
  • there are new designs every month
  • …and I’m obsessed with watching the Mary-Kate and Ashley videos about each T Shirt design. Obsessed.

Oh my, I love StyleMint too! I totally thought I would just order them for “blog research” purposes but now I’m totally hooked. /Sigh.

Love the video as opposed to pictures too.

I’m glad you like the video versus pictures Thessa. What’s your favorite StyleMint t shirt of the moment? I’m constantly wearing my pink one.

Right now I’m wearing the Fillmore a bunch. I love it’s slouchiness and rugby stripes.

Actually Kendra, I’m pleased to report that they do indeed ship to Canada! It may have been a much-requested feature, because I checked their FAQ page for you and they do indeed ship to you. :) Happy shopping!

I bought my first Stylemint tee last month (the Broadway in blue) and I love it! It is so soft and I know that I’ll wear it with so many outfits since it’s such a classic design :) Also, I am really enjoying your videos- you speak so naturally in front of the camera and your voice is very easy to listen to!

I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect tee-shirt, especially in white so I’ll have to give StyleMint a try. I love the different collar options as well- thanks for the great tip!

Thanks for the info! I just ordered my first StyleMint shirt…a navy long sleeve henley. My favorite part of the site is the style videos for each piece!

Interesting, however, the sheerness really turns me off. :/

I’m worried about the sheerness too. Does anyone who’s ordered from them have anything to say about this? Are all the lighter-colored tees sheer, or just some styles? Thanks!

Just the white Prince t shirt was a little sheer on me, but all the others were perfectly fine. The style does tend to run toward the sheerer side, is my guess, because it’s kind of their “The Row” influence I think – very casual, california, flowy, sheer. It’s not a thick white t shirt, is what I’m trying to say. but if sheerness bothers you, I wouldn’t buy the Prince in white! Also, I could kinda gauge the sheerness based on the model photos & videos, if that helps! :)

FYI – F21 has some really nice v-neck t-shirts in white, peach & beige. At $4.98 each, I’m going to hold off on StyleMint. But thanks for the info!

Kristina thanks for your honest review. I liked the idea of a T-shirt of the month club so I had joined Style Mint, but I was hesitant about the quality. Hearing your thoughts helped to quell my hesitations. P.S. I have the same AE vest love it!

I’ve been with StyleMint for a few months now and I’m in love with them! They are beyond comfortable. The only problem I have with them is that they are so soft that I often have a crease line for my bra so I have to wear an undershirt.

Kindness is the best accessory,
Rebecca

I love all of the Mint websites! I’ve only ordered one tee from StyleMint and I liked it a heck of a lot more than I was anticipating. It’s so comfortable! Have you tried JewelMint? I place a new order every month on the first … I’m obsessed!

Just want others to know about the terrible service I had through StyleMint. I was really excited to make my first order, but I do read through the FAQs and Return Policies before ordering – from anywhere. Especially with a new company which makes money off a subscription type service – I was weary… Well, I gave it a go and within 10 minutes I attempted to change/cancel my order, which they are able to do if the item has not shipped. Since it was after customer service hours, I left them a detailed voicemail and an email with the order information. They claim they do not have proof of either attempt to reach them. Do not use the email message on their website – you will have no way to track the message or have proof you sent it. Apparently their voicemail is not reliable either. Not impressed with their shady practices, which is a shame since all I had originally wanted to do was change the size of a shirt and had hoped, since it was 10 minutes after purchasing, I could avoid being sent one size, to mail it right back for a different size. Due to their poor customer service (basically received an attitude and was accused of lying when I said I emailed and called), I won’t be purchasing again, even if the exchange would be “free.”

Hi! I signed up for Stylemint just a couple months ago and have 2 shirts so far – both of which I love!! I was just wondering what size do you purchase in the tees? I just received the Melrose and ordered it in a size 1, but wished I would have ordered in size 2. I’m considering getting the Abbot Kinney but am concerned about sizing now. Thanks in advance – and you have a great blog! :)
