Oxblood is a color that is unique unto itself. Only the fashion world can make brownish-burgundy chic and desireable. It’s everywhere, it’s inescapable (did you read this Refinery29 post?). The UT Longhorn in me would shudder at the thought of calling it maroon (the color of my college rival). But I quite like this color; it’s the color of football games and chili, raking leaves, and scarves.

Now, for this Bloggers Do It Better challenge, the trick will be for us to get this color right. We can’t slip on a pair of darkish red skinnies and call it a day. Finding the right color–this oxblood–takes legwork. The color is, again, a wine color with tints of brown.

As always, the rules are simple. Have a BDIB button up in your sidebar, post your outfit (must be a real outfit on you, no collages) to your own blog, and then wait for the link up post. The link up post will go live Tuesday, September 25th! Good luck!

Oh, and don’t forget to tweet this post out to get your friends in the loop as well! #BloggersDoItBetter!

I like this color very much……….bright and fair people looks so good in this. I’ll definitely gonna buy this for my girlfriend as she has a very fair complexion and whatever she wears she looks damn good. She is like my Fashion Queen.

Definitely going to be entering! Love this colour, it’s such a gorgeous rich colour for Fall! That peplum blouse you chose is absolutely stunning.

Sorry this may sound dumb but I am a wee bit confused on the Rules. I already have the BDIB link on my blogs sidebar but on the 24th there will be a post that I’ll comment on to enter? I just haven’t ever seen these posts before on your blog, do you take them down once you’ve gather all the photos?

I’m going to be honest; im a little scared of oxblood. The name itself is throwing me off a bit…but I think I’m going to try your challenge and see if i can make it work for me.

I’m sooooo in love with this color for Fall, it’s so rich and pretty! I don’t own anything in my closet right now with that color, so I’ll have to pass on this BDIB but can’t wait to see everyone’s submissions!

I really love the colour now but this was the colour of my school uniform. Oxblood jumper, skirt and tights with a blue shirt. I always hated it but now I love it (although I’d not go as ott as our uniform was)
