Over the past several days/weeks, I’ve been collecting some things for two separate reasons. One being that I have a new planner (which at the time of filming was on the way, but is now HERE and I LOVE IT). The second being that I am currently away on a fabulous cruise vacation. I have been on a bit of an organizing kick lately, so I picked up a couple of organizational items in addition to fun planner-decorating supplies. And for my cruise vacay, I definitely needed a new sunscreen (since they expire quite quickly) and some other beachy essentials. I thought I would film a quick haul for you! Warning: it’s impressive.
When it comes to Christian Louboutin shoes, everyone always thinks about the red sole. But honestly, after one wear, that pretty red sole starts looking pretty darn messy. Now, I’m all about luxury and high-end items (I didn’t grow up hearing my dad say I’ve “got champagne tastes on a beer budget” all my life for nothing!). But there is expensive, and then there is stupid expensive. Christian Louboutin is one of them. Want to buy that pair of shoes right there? That’ll set you back a couple thou. As in thousands. Of US dollars.
Or you could just buy these for under $170 bucks and call it a day.
Hey guys and gals! Time for another monthly favorites video! I think the video pretty much says it all…if you have any questions about where to find the things I mentioned, please ask me in the comments below! I love replying to comment questions! Ta-ta!

The other day I decided to make a care package for my sister who was feeling homesick on her first day away from home at college. She’s in a completely different city, which can be very hard when you’ve been living 18 years of your life in the same home. I thought I would film its contents (last minute) before I sent it on its way, in case it inspired you to do something similar for your student or sibling who’s away from home right now! Enjoy!

Back to school fashions vary by region, age, culture, and a whole host of other factors. But if I were able to go back in time and coach my teenage- or twenty-something-year-old self, I would probably take myself shopping for the above items. Once can never have too many pairs of good, basic, black ankle boots (…and please don’t call them booties! Pet peeve!). I like the trendier, edgier versions to be on the cheaper side, in case the trend is a flash-in-the-pan. Classic black leather boots without much embellishment should be an investment piece in every woman’s wardrobe – they go with everything. Skirt with tights, skinny jeans, even a pair of tailored slacks. Make sure you invest in a comfortable, durable, well-made pair. I love Dolce Vita’s iteration above.
I’m also loving the classic collegiate baseball cap, but reworked in a leather style for a bit of an edge that is also kind of timeless looking. Classic “clubmaster” style sunglasses are a must since festival fashion is still going strong, but pick up an affordable pair first before you go splurging on the Ray-Ban version. A classic geometric/tribal print scarf can be tied onto your backpack (I have a soft spot for leather rucksacks) in case your classroom is a bit chilly. And I’m loving the glammed-up take on the classic friendship bracelet – with Swarovski crystals! Totally my thing!
