Smythson Love Letters

One thing I love about Valentine’s Day is all the red and pink. And the fact that this is the only month in which red and pink together can actually be cute. Yay for that! One thing that’s caught my eye is UK-based luxury paper and leather goods maker, Smythson. They’re extraordinarily expensive, and by the looks of their products (which I’ve seen highlighted in magazines like House Beautiful and Vogue) very high-end quality. I’ve fallen in love with their Love Lettersicon book:

Oh man is it gorgeous! And at $235USD a pop, it’s also out of my price range. But they have a whole section of Valentine’s Day goodies that you can browse at your heart’s content.

Oh, and Steph (a Smythson rep) graciously offered a free shipping coupon to Pretty Shiny Sparkly readers (that’s you, Pretty Committee!).

Just enter SOCIALFEB10 at checkout. Enjoy!

Oh, and I just got my Moleskine Colour-A-Month Daily Planner set from Gilt. Lovely! Too bad the sale went on so that you’re out of luck when it comes to January, but at least I have 11 precious months to use these tiny things. This should help with my USMLE Step 1 study plan!

Unwrapping my planner set!

Im so jealous!!! I tried to get one but they were sold out, but I did put myself on their wait list. Anyway, hope you enjoy your planner that I will be coveting…:)

It’s a bit smaller than I expected (each planner is only 3″ by 5″ and about 2 mm thick) and the cover is not the soft supple leathery feel I was expecting–it’s the “volante” which I now know means it’s more of a vinyl type cover. I imagine the full-size planners are of the nicer quality. But it’s handy to throw in my purse or backpack! I’ve been using it every day, and it’s nice to physically cross things out (the iPhone can only do so much for my OCPD). ; )
