California has been so much fun so far. My sister and I scoped out the shops at the Santa Monica Promenade. Of course we made a trip to H&M as well as Forever 21, where I purchased this top. I love it because it combines two of my favorite trends: colorblocking and bold stripes. We’ve been staying at my aunt’s place in Topanga Canyon, which boasts strikingly beautiful views, four friendly chickens, and hydrangea bushes (one of my favorite flowers). The air smells like sage and the temperature is 72 degrees. I’m in heaven!

I keep wearing my Sam Edelman shoes with these jeans, and I don’t know why. Perhaps they’re the perfect height. I really don’t know; I must branch out and try them with some wedges as well–but suitcases only hold so many shoes, and mine was dominated by sparkly Toms, sparkly ballet flats, Frye boots, and this pair.

I don’t want to leave!

    It's so funny I just posted yesterday my bold stripes top as well. Wise Minds… I love this top! Loving those two colors for summer. These backgrounds look gorgeous! I really love that necklace it sparkles so pretty, what a way to glam up a blouse!

    I get the same way when it comes to jeans and shoes. If they work I wear them until I get sick of them. Good jeans are hard to find, and comfortable shoes even more! Hope you have a great time in CA, have a safe trip back to TX. The heat is waiting :)

    LOL! I guess when you are in CA you really have to clarify pipes vs. lip gloss (I'm from Boulder, Colorado, so I completely understand)! I love those shoes and I cannot wait to get an H&M store here! That top is fantastic and I always say I love the shoes, but I'll say it again, I love the shoes!

    I LOVE stripes. At one point I think I owned more then my fair share of striped shirts. I don't know what it is about stripes but I find them so friendly and fun.

    Glad you're enjoying CA! We've been having great weather this weekend, so you came at the perfect time! Was the Santa Monica Promenade a total zoo? When I worked in Santa Monica, I would "accidently" take 2 hour lunches and roam the Promenade shops. :)
