The Boys are Back in Town

by Kristina on February 22, 2011 · 56 comments

H&M blazer | F21 shirt | J.Crew belt | 7 for all mankind jeans | Jeffrey Campbell clogs | Marc Jacobs sunglasses (c/o) | Michael Kors watch (c/o) | Jewelry: David Yurman, Sundance, & F21

Sometimes you just feel like dressing smart, tailored, chic. One of my favorite things about this outfit is how inexpensive it was. The blazer and top are from inexpensive stores, and the designer jeans were thrifted. To keep it from looking too boyish, I threw my messy hair up into a teased bun and wrapped it with a piece of ribbon tied into a bow, and threw on my Marc Jacobs cat-eye sunnies.

And then…it was time for margaritas and enchiladas with some of HB’s friends.

I love my new Michael Kors rose gold watch (seen here).

I prefer to tuck in my shirts when it comes to high-waisted jeans — why buy them if you’re not going to show the style off? Otherwise you’re just wearing Mom Jeans. At least, that’s my two cents!

The social bar above is my tip jar. Pin, Like, and Tweet if you please!

Love, Kristina

Nice! You do a great job of mixing and matching what's in your closet – wish I was talented like that :)

cute look on you, especially with the ribbon tied around your bun. Love your nail color as well- looks like tiffany blue! I've gone almost 2 years without authentic mexican food (well, tex-mex at least…) and a good margarita while living in israel, so have one for me!

LOVE THIS! I think I have this same blazer, or one just like it in grey. I <3 it! I don't wear it enough…you've inspired me. lol. Oh, and I'm totally loving that rose gold watch. I too have the same mixed metals dilemma. Love my gold MK watch, but also love some of my silver jewelry. you're so right that the rose gold is the solution. I have an anniversary coming up…. might have to start dropping hints… lol.

I love this so much. This is exactly how I dress when I want to be a bit casual. Im with you on the tucking in of shirts with high waisted jeans (im still hunting for the perfect ones)

ps. I want your sunglasses

I totally agree. Shirts should be tucked into high-waist jeans because not only does it keep you from seeming like a not-so-desperate housewife wannabe, but it makes your legs look extra-long and sexy, especially when paired with heels.

haha! totally agree on the high-waisted jeans. tuck that shirt in and show off that waist-line! that's the whole point, right?

Don't you just love casual, cool looks like this? In some ways they make you feel sassier than when you're all dolled up. It's kinda like anything boys can do, I can do better! LOL :)

Such a cute, classic outfit. I haven't worn my blazers in years, but you have inspired me to start again! I love the stripes on the cuff…is that part of the shirt?

Outfit is totally great. I just want you to know I think you do a great job modeling. You always look engaging and NOT "Posey" . I feel like I have this "Posey" problem which is how I always feel I look when I do my posts. I need to work on that..

The only element I don't like are the "light" shoes. THe height of the shoe is perfect, the light color serves to not extend the line of the cool jeans! My two cents.

I wish I could say I look this chic while eating enchiladas and drinking margaritas, but I'm usually in a bikini, romper and flip flops! I absolutely adore this outfit. The hair and sunglasses? You look gorgeous! So, so pretty!

I am dying over your nail polish. I feel like we had a conversation about it at Lucky FABB because I was wearing the same hue. You look like the perfect girl to hang with the boys – not all girls can do this, you know? And I've never been one for rose gold, but I think it's starting to grow on me!

Love the bow in your hair, too!

Erika

Hey Sonia! It's actually Revlon "Minted" – a limited edition color that came out last spring. Not sure if they still make it but if they do, grab a bottle! Less than half the price of Chanel polish. :)

I'm a HUGE fan of blazer's especially since Spring is on it's way and they are great to throw on over dresses, shorts, whatever! And I completely agree with the "tuck in shirt" theory. Also, LOVE that bag!

Though I'm not a fan of a tomboy look, I do like how you worked it. The bow and your accessories are a nice touch. I love your sunglasses. I am looking for a good pair of designer sunglasses for this summer. I'm thinking I will have to go with Marc. :)

I could not agree more with your high-waisted jeans/tucked in shirt motto. And the cuff/linings on that blazer! What a great touch!

I'm on the fence when it comes to clogs. I love the look but feel as though they would be uncomfortable to walk in.

Great Pictures! I've recently become obsessed with blazers but haven't ventured out into colours other than black – I really like this beige blazer with the striped cuffs – sophisticated but also fun – just lovely! (may have to pay a visit to H & M!)
