The Chartreuse Experiment

Tee- Loft sunwashed tee (on sale) | Sheer black shirt- Cheap Monday (old) | Pants- J.Crew pixie pant | Sunglasses- Elizabeth & James | Watch- Michael Kors | Jewelry- House of Harlow 1960 necklace, David Yurman bracelets, Michael Kors belt bangle, ASOS star ring | Bag- Alexander Wang | Lipstick- Revlon Kissable Lip Stain in “Darling”

I am not sure if one accessory can change your style of dressing for a few days (or weeks) but for this girl, it’s definitely happened. I am also not sure if that’s embarrassing, or just completely natural. Since I got this glorious bag, I find myself living on the edgier side (one, two). Of course, the necklace also adds to the drama. I have been wearing both absolutely non-stop and they’ve been the best purchases I’ve made all year!

I’m not one to wear much yellow or chartreuse, but I spotted this on the sale rack at Loft this weekend and thought it would be an easy way to try out chartreuse on a more day-to-day level. This soft, slub-knit tee will work just as well with a casual pair of bootcut jeans running errands on the weekend.

Photos by my ever-loving husband. Thanks HB!

Love the Alex Wang bag! I just sold my Darcy hobo that is similar on ebay last week because it had water stains. The person who got it was very happy, but it drove me crazy that I spent $800+ on a bag with a stain :-/

I too have a difficult time with yellow. I love the color but my skin tone doesn’t. I think you did a great job with the making it not only work but look fantastic!

I agree yellow can be difficult – and this color of chartreuse even more so. To keep it from washing me out I did put the sheer layer over the top which helped a little – something I’d recommend trying if you’re ever in the mood! :) Thank you so much!

    Hi there : )
I am a small town girl with a big city sense of style. I love heels and a classic look with a little pizzazz but I have the constant problem of finding a place to wear anything nice. Any advice?

p.s love your blog!! Your beauty reviews have changed my make up bag : )

Thanks for posting! I think I’ve finally found just the bag to get my gf for her bday. I wasn’t able to get the same bag though, but the Prisma Tote in black was on sale at the Zendeals Facebook page thankfully :)

I absolutely LOVE that bag! It’s awesome! I totally believe one accessory or clothing item can change your style…or at least help to evolve it into something greater. That is what style is all about right? Continuously discovering what suits you, taking risks and constantly evolving and improving. I think this look you put together is fabulous. I love your blog and I hope you’ll check mine out and follow back. xoxo

that’s a really smart way to include neon into your outfit without looking crazy at work :) i’m learning slowly from your mastery – brand new med1 student and taken aback by how often we have to dress in professional wear. thanks for being an inspiration!
