What It Means to Be PSS – By Blonde Bedhead

While I’m in Norway for the holidays I’ve asked a few select bloggers to host Pretty Shiny Sparkly until my return. Please give Andrea of Blonde Bedhead a warm welcome with your comments! xoxo — Kristina

Three words I’d like to be more like: Pretty. Shiny. Sparkly. I’m naturally a cynical realist with a tendency to favor the color black and curse a lot. Yet, there are times my heart of coal melts when I see cute animals, my grandma surprises me with a cheesecake or when I get a thoughtful email from a reader.

When I think of Pretty Shiny Sparkly, I of course think of the gorgeous Kristina, but secondary, I think of a combination of confidence, taking risks and not being afraid of embracing a girlier side.

I’ve recently taken an interest in leopard print (and embraced my inner girly girl.) And this print seamlessly fits into my mostly neutral wardrobe. I paired my leopard print coat with this striped dress with faux leather leggings with an ankle zip detail and lace up boots for some edge.. I like a cinched in coat, so I removed a sash from one of my dresses and tied it around the waist. It’s so cold in Michigan, it’s become an absolute necessity to add a scarf (even if it covers up the cute details of the coat) and gloves. I wanted to feel a bit fancy with this particular look, perhaps a bit Pretty Shiny Sparkly, so I added leather gloves and some pink lipstick.

Come visit me at Blonde Bedhead! and/or follow me on Twitter, @andreakerbuski.

This is an amazing outfit, and one I'll have to replicate – seeing as I own the *exact same* leopard coat from H&M!!!

Oh, and I want your hair. Wanna trade?

Are there any online sites that sell H&M? Their closest store to me is 2 hours away… and I love this jacket!

At least you have one that close to you!! But I hear ya on the lack of H&M

stuff….unfortunately there are no ways to buy H&M online…except maybe

eBay?

I bought mine on my trip to L.A. back in September.

LOL – I just looked at the H&M locator map and totally laughed when I saw how far away the closest store is to you… guess I shouldn't be complaining! :)

Completely agree! I have a tendency to lean towards more boyish cuts and pants are my safe place. Im learning that it doesn't hurt to push to girly envelope every once in a while, as long as we keep in mind our own style elements in the process. Great post! Love the pink lipstick thrown in there.

I love this coat and the boots again. Yes, everyone should embrace the idea of being Pretty, Shiny, and Sparkly, whether it's in your personality or your style.
